Abstract
This study was conducted in conjunction with the activities of the Advisory Committee on the Public Interest Obligations of Digital Television Broadcasters, which was convened by the Clinton administration to explore possible changes to the public interest requirements placed on broadcasters once they make the transition to digital broadcasting. This study analyzes the programming schedules of a small number of markets in the U.S., finding very low levels of public affairs programming across these markets.
