Abstract

This book provides a detailed social history of the events surrounding the well-known WLBT case in Jackson, Mississippi in the 1960s.  The book provides not only detailed historical background on the events leading up to the license challenge, but also an analysis of the role of television in the lives of members of the Jackson, Mississippi community during that time period.
