Biography
Tom Jacobson (Ph.D. University of Washington) is Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the School of Communications and Theater at Temple University. Prior to joining the faculty at Temple, he was an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication at the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he also served as Chair of the University at Buffalo¹s Department of Communication and Interim Dean of its School of Informatics. His research focuses on communication for development and social change, political participation, and program assessment methods. He is past President of the Participatory Communication Research Section of the International Association of Media and Communication Research, and is co-editor with Sina Odugbemi (forthcoming) of Governance Reform Under Real World Conditions: Citizens, Stakeholders, and Voice.
