Biography
Steve Rockwell received his doctorate at the University of Alabama. He
originally joined the faculty in 1993. In 1995, he left the University
to become the director of the Alabama Technology Network's Center for
Telecommunications Technology. In 1998, returned to USA.
Steve
teaches classes in media effects, video production, communication
technologies and research methods. His research interests include the
uses and impacts telecommunication technologies, media theory and
effects, and telecommunication policy.
Steve has been actively involved in the area of new communication
technologies, serving as a hardware and software design consultant to
various clients. He is also a founding partner of a multimedia design
and consulting business that specializes in the design and production
of content management systems and communication technology audits.
However, teaching and research are his real passions and he feels
fortunate to be able to work at the University of South Alabama.
