Biography
Dr. Rahul De’ is the Hewlett-Packard Chair Professor in ICT for Sustainable Economic Development in the Quantitative Methods & Information Systems Area of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB). He has a B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, an MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, and a Ph.D. from the Artificial Intelligence in Management Laboratory of the Katz Graduate School of Business, University of Pittsburgh, U.S.A.
Dr. De’s research interests are in E-Government Systems and applications of ICT for Development. He also works in applied Artificial Intelligence, particularly in the areas of Multi-Agent Modelling, and also in the study of Open Source software. He has published over 30 articles in international journals, conference proceedings and as chapters in books, including journals such as IT and People, J. of Logistics Information Management and Omega. He has served as a reviewer for several journals, books and conferences.
Dr. De’ has served as a consultant for Westinghouse Corporation and Blue Cross Blue Shield Corporation in Pittsburgh, and for the Maryland State Government. In India he serves as a consultant for several multi-nationals and as a corporate trainer.
