MAKING HISTORY: Race, Gender, and the Media in the 2008 Elections
September 26 - 27, 2008
St. John’s Queens campus, New York City
The mission of the Ronald H. Brown Center is “to engage in legal studies, research and outreach focusing on issues that affect the lives of underrepresented people while simultaneously educating law students to be leaders on issues of racial, economic and social justice.” “MAKING HISTORY: Race, Gender, and the Media in the 2008 Elections,” will further that mission by convening scholars, practitioners, activists, and students to analyze the role of race, gender, and the media in 2008 general elections and to explore the broader legal, social, and political implications that these issues present.
Selected papers will be published in the St. John’s Journal of Legal Commentary, the official publication of the Ronald H. Brown Center for Civil Rights and Economic Development.
