Biography
Muzammil M. Hussain is based at the University of Washington's Department of Communication. His research focuses on digital media and civic information systems in advanced democracies, and ICT uses for contentious mobilization by civic activists in developing societies. Currently, he is a researcher at the Center for Communication and Civic Engagement (CCCE), and manager of the Project on Information Technology and Political Islam (PITPI). Formerly, he was at the University of Wisconsin's School of Journalism and Mass Communication, and collaborated on projects affiliated with the Mass Communication Research Center's (MCRC) Media & Politics Research Group, and the Social Media & Democracy Research Group. He has also worked as a researcher at Lindsay, Stone & Briggs, and consultant for InterCulture.
