Abstract
This study is a follow-up to Adams’ 1978 study. In this study, the author delves a bit more deeply into which parts of a station’s market receive greater coverage in local television newscasts (central city vs. outlying areas). The results suggest that news broadcasts devote most of their coverage to events and issues pertinent to the central city, to the neglect of coverage of outlying portions of the stations’ market areas.
