Abstract

In this study, Adams presents the results of a content analysis of 10 Pennsylvania television stations, to determine the extent to which local news broadcasts actually address local issues and events (i.e., stories involving events and issues originating within the station’s market area). The author finds a substantial amount of broadcast news time devoted to local issues and events.
