Jaewon Chung is Program Assistant for the SSRC's Necessary Knowledge for a Democratic Public Sphere, for which she helps coordinate outreach, provides research/editorial assistance, and assists in the administration of grant competitions and the management of program web portals, listservs, databases, and other collaboration tools. She obtained her B.A. in Sociology from the University of Pennsylvania, with a focus on Asian American Studies and Women's Studies. After graduating, she worked as a Development Intern at Make A Better Place and helped conduct some field research for the Restaurant Opportunities Center of New York. Prior to joining the staff at the SSRC, she was a Research Assistant at the Vera Institute of Justice on a project investigating Clinical HIV/AIDS Trials Involving Children in Foster Care.
