Biography
Amit Schejter joined the College of Communications in 2004 after more than a decade of service in the communications industry and academia in Israel.
An attorney specializing in telecommunications law, Schejter held senior government positions, was Director of Legal Affairs and International Relations for the Israeli public broadcaster, vice president of regulatory affairs at the country's largest cellular operator (a subsidiary of BellSouth) and on the communications faculty at Tel Aviv University.
As an attorney, he advised local and foreign media and telecommunications and Internet businesses in both Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
Schejter's research centers on the public interest as it is applied to policies introducing new media. His research has appeared in journals such as Communications Law and Policy and the Federal Communications Law Journal. He has presented his work at conferences worldwide, including the International Communications Association and the Telecommunications Policy Research Conference.
Schejter brings with him 15 years of teaching experience designing courses on social, legal, regulatory and ethical aspects of the communications industry.
