Since the start of the Communication Sciences studies at Ghent University in 1964, there has been a clear evolution in the performed research. Starting from the traditional research area with regard to press and audio-visual media in recent years the research field has developed into a broader spectrum of image culture, corporate communication, media law, new media, advertising, ... The OMC carries out fundamental as well as specialized research. The OMC has commercial as well as non-commercial clients.
